Next - YouTube 30 second seminars, look for it - coming soon!

In May alone, 37.3 million people visited Twitter, and more than 100 million users now log on to Facebook at least once a day. Now smart HR managers are using Twitter, Facebook, and other online tools to engage employees and drive productivity increases. A recent study from Human Capital Institute reports that nearly half of U.S. companies are using these corporate social networks and more than half have implemented their own internal blogs and wikis.

Southwest Airlines, UPS, Verizon Wireless, Lockheed Martin, Federal Reserve Bank and other top employers are using social media to boost workforce morale and performance.

Web 2.0 is here and it's being used. Fad, fascination, or fabulous, it's technology and culture that warrants serious consideration!

ShopSavvy - Barcode Scanning Software for your Wireless

ShopSavvy is a new tool available for cell phones (currently available for the Google phone through T-Mobile) that can read barcodes and provide you with information about a product. You use the camera's built in camera to scan the barcode of an item. The free software will then search for related information about the product. This technology could be adapted for Records Management in the very near future. Who knows, perhaps one day users and Records professionals can use their own mobile devices to manage records of an organization!!!!
