In May alone, 37.3 million people visited Twitter, and more than 100 million users now log on to Facebook at least once a day. Now smart HR managers are using Twitter, Facebook, and other online tools to engage employees and drive productivity increases. A recent study from Human Capital Institute reports that nearly half of U.S. companies are using these corporate social networks and more than half have implemented their own internal blogs and wikis.
Southwest Airlines, UPS, Verizon Wireless, Lockheed Martin, Federal Reserve Bank and other top employers are using social media to boost workforce morale and performance.
Web 2.0 is here and it's being used. Fad, fascination, or fabulous, it's technology and culture that warrants serious consideration!
